MRI Scan

Detailed soft-tissue imaging with no radiation — a Philips 1.5 Tesla MRI in Baddi, so you do not have to drive to Chandigarh for a brain, spine or knee scan.

What Is MRI?

The most detailed way to see soft tissue

Magnetic Resonance Imaging uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves to build detailed images of the brain, spine, joints and abdomen.

Unlike CT and X-ray, MRI uses no radiation at all, which makes it the preferred scan for repeated studies, for children where possible, and for any area where fine soft-tissue detail decides the diagnosis. Young children often need sedation to stay still for an MRI; your doctor weighs this against the radiation of a CT when choosing.

Our machine is a Philips 1.5T Achieva with a 16-channel coil — a configuration that balances image quality with scan speed, so most studies take 20–45 minutes. Music is available during the scan, and our staff are experienced with anxious patients.

Indicative price: MRI at Baddi from Rs 4,000 (single region, without contrast). Final cost depends on the study; call to confirm.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers. If you have any other question, call or WhatsApp us — we reply fast.

What is an MRI scan?
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves to build very detailed images of soft tissues — brain, spine, joints, ligaments, abdomen and pelvis. It uses no radiation, which makes it ideal for repeated and sensitive studies.
How long does an MRI take?
Most scans take 20 to 45 minutes depending on the body part. Our Philips 1.5T at Baddi keeps scan times efficient, and music is available to help you relax.
Is MRI safe?
MRI uses no ionising radiation. Safety screening covers four things: (1) implants and metal — pacemakers, ICDs, cochlear implants, aneurysm clips, neurostimulators, metallic foreign bodies in the eye; (2) kidney function if gadolinium contrast is planned; (3) pregnancy — tell us if you are or may be pregnant, especially in the first three months; (4) items on or in the body — tattoos, medicated patches, hearing aids. Hearing protection is given to every patient because the scanner is loud. See the MRI preparation guide.
